Use intersecting geometric shapes to visualise fusion; pair a bold, contemporary typeface with a lively palette; build a flexible design system for consistent application across social, print, apparel, and environments.

A coming together of creative minds

In October 2023, Media Architecture Design Edmonton (MADE) orchestrated Edmonton Design Week, a 5-day creative festival that spotlighted exceptional talents in the fields of Art, Design, and Architecture—showcasing both local and international contributors.

Tasked with crafting a distinctive brand identity aligned with the festival's theme of "Meld—a coming together of creative minds” the organisers enlisted the expertise of the collective. The resulting brand identity revolves around a redesigned logo, wherein fundamental shapes were extracted to form a collection of intersecting graphical elements. These intersections embody the essence of "Meld" and serve as the foundation for the entire design.

Complemented by a vibrant colour palette and contemporary typeface, this set of building blocks evolved into a dynamic design system that extended its reach across social media, print materials, signage, apparel, and digital applications. The cohesive and impactful identity contributed to the overall success of Edmonton Design Week.
